Getting started

From sign-up to your first cited answer in under 10 minutes.

Set up your workspace, scope your regulatory surface, register your first asset, and ask your first compliance question. All 7 US ISOs (independent system operators), the state PUCs (public utility commissions) of all 50 states and the District of Columbia, NERC, FERC, EPA, CFTC and IRS.

1

Create your workspace

Go to phronedge.com and sign up with your work email or Google. Your workspace is provisioned immediately with isolated storage, a scoped database, and a private knowledge base. Your data is separated from every other tenant from the moment you sign up. We do not train on customer data.

TIPUse your company email. When you bring teammates in later, they join your workspace automatically and every action is logged under their own identity.
2

Choose your coverage

Open Plan from the sidebar. Every plan opens every tool; plans differ in workspaces, assets, seats, grid operators, credits and service.

Essentials
$18,000/yr or $1,650/mo

1 seat and 1 workspace with 5 registered assets. 3 grid operators with the state commissions in their footprints, plus FERC, NERC, EPA, CFTC and IRS. 12,000 credits a year. Every tool.

Platform
$48,000/yr

3

Scope your regulatory surface

The sidebar lists every ISO under the Operate section. Select a market and PhronEdge activates every regulatory source that governs it: the ISO protocols, the applicable state PUC, and the full federal layer. On Essentials you choose one ISO. On Platform, all seven are active and you can scope between them.

Your entire workspace adapts to scope. The Home dashboard, the regulatory change feed, market data, and the chat all filter to the sources that govern your specific operations.

4

Map your obligations

Open Registration. Register a generation, storage, or load asset and PhronEdge maps the obligations that apply from NERC, FERC, your ISO, your state PUC, EPA, and IRS to that specific asset. Two paths:

Guided setupDescribe your asset in plain language. PhronEdge identifies the ISO, resource type, and registration path, then builds the full milestone plan with citations to the regulatory sections.
Manual entrySelect the ISO, resource type (solar, wind, BESS (battery energy storage system), load, gas), and capacity. The milestone plan populates from actual per-ISO registration requirements.

The ERCOT plan runs from the interconnection request in RIOO-IS through screening and full studies, the interconnection agreement, the Quarterly Stability Assessment, resource registration and QSE designation, commissioning, and ongoing compliance. Each milestone includes the regulatory citation, required documents, the portal where you file, timeline, fees, and what happens if you miss it. Assign milestones to team members, set due dates, and sync deadlines to your calendar. When a regulation changes, PhronEdge matches it against every registered asset and tells you which plans are affected.

EVERY PLANGuided registration and milestone tracking are on every plan. Essentials includes 1 registered asset, Platform includes 5, and Enterprise is sized to your portfolio.
5

Get cited regulatory intelligence

Open Relay, the PhronEdge assistant. Ask any compliance question. Relay answers with numbered citations to the source documents: ERCOT Protocols, PUCT (Public Utility Commission of Texas) rules, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards and FERC orders. Every link opens the source, so you can check each answer yourself.

TRY THESE

What are the ERCOT interconnection requirements for a 200 MW solar facility?

When is the next FERC Order 2023 compliance deadline?

Compare ERCOT and PJM rules for battery storage resources.

What penalties apply to a missed CIP-004 training deadline?

What state PUC approvals do I need for a BESS project in Texas?

Scope your chat to a specific registered entity using the dropdown at the top. The intelligence filters to what applies to that asset: its ISO, its state PUC, its NERC registration category, and every federal obligation that touches it.

6

The full intelligence layer

The sidebar organizes your complete regulatory operating system:

Work
HomeYour portfolio command center. Live grid status across your ISOs, registration progress with milestone completion, regulatory changes filtered to your sources (today, this week, this month), and an inline Relay input. Your registered assets and their next milestones at the bottom.
AttentionEverything that needs action: regulatory changes that affect your assets, registration milestones and filing deadlines. See it as a list to triage, assign and resolve, or as a calendar. Export the calendar as .ics for Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.
RegistrationYour per-ISO milestone plan. Track each asset from application through interconnection to commercial operation. Every milestone cited to the regulatory source.
RelayThe PhronEdge assistant. Ask anything. Cited answers from every monitored source. Scoped to your portfolio or to a specific entity.
Markets
MarketReal-time and day-ahead prices, system load, generation mix, and gas prices with implied heat rates, across all 7 US ISOs.
Tools
CrosswalkCompare obligations across any two regulatory frameworks side by side. NERC standards vs FERC regulations. ERCOT vs PJM. Gaps and overlaps with recommended actions, exportable as PDF or CSV.
IncidentsReport an incident type and get every reporting obligation mapped: timelines, authorities, contacts, and consequences of late filing. Each one cited to its source.
VendorsEvaluate any vendor against supply chain standards like NERC CIP-013. Risk score, gap analysis, and remediation actions cited to the standard, exportable as PDF.
Sources
CoverageAll 7 US ISOs, all 50 state PUCs and DC, NERC, FERC, EPA, CFTC and IRS, monitored at the source daily.
KnowledgeUpload internal policies, procedures, and prior filings. PhronEdge cross-references your documents when answering questions, so the intelligence accounts for what you already have in place.

Deliver intelligence to your team

Open Settings and go to Notifications. Choose which events reach your inbox: high-impact changes, compliance deadlines within 30 days, enforcement actions, and a weekly digest every Monday.

When something is published that affects your assets, the right people know before the comment window closes or the effective date hits.

EVERY PLANEmail alerts and the weekly digest are included on Essentials, Platform and Enterprise, and never use credits.
8

Add your compliance team

Open Settings and go to Team. Invite by email and assign a role (Admin, Analyst, Auditor, or Viewer). Everyone gets their own login and every action is logged with who and when. Your audit trail holds up under examination because every person has their own seat.

Essentials includes 1 seat|Platform includes 3 seats

On Platform, additional seats are $6,000 a year and additional registered assets $5,000 a year, added from the Plan tab. Enterprise is sized to your team.
