Getting started

From sign-up to your first cited answer in under 10 minutes.

Set up your workspace, scope your regulatory surface, register your first asset, and ask your first compliance question. 76+ sources across 7 US ISOs, all 50 state PUCs, NERC, FERC, EPA, IRS, and international operators in Canada, the EU, the UK, and Australia. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

1

Create your workspace

Go to phronedge.com and sign up with your work email or Google. Your workspace is provisioned immediately with isolated storage, a scoped database, and a private knowledge base. Your data is separated from every other tenant from the moment you sign up. We do not train on customer data.

TIPUse your company email. When you bring teammates in later, they join your workspace automatically and every action is logged under their own identity.
2

Choose your coverage

Open Plan from the sidebar. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial with full platform access. Your card is not charged until the trial ends.

3

Scope your regulatory surface

The sidebar lists every ISO under the Operate section. Select a market and PhronEdge activates every regulatory source that governs it: the ISO protocols, the applicable state PUC, and the full federal layer. On Essentials you choose one ISO. On Platform, all seven are active and you can scope between them. Platform also activates international sources: AESO and IESO (Canada), ENTSO-E (EU), Ofgem (UK), and AEMO (Australia).

Your entire workspace adapts to scope. The Home dashboard, the regulatory change feed, market data, and the chat all filter to the sources that govern your specific operations.

4

Map your obligations

Open Registration. Register a generation, storage, or load asset and PhronEdge maps every applicable obligation from NERC, FERC, your ISO, your state PUC, EPA, and IRS to that specific asset. 78 obligations across 7 regulators for a single ERCOT entity. Two paths:

Guided setupDescribe your asset in plain language. PhronEdge identifies the ISO, resource type, and registration path, then builds the full milestone plan with citations to the regulatory sections.
Manual entrySelect the ISO, resource type (solar, wind, BESS, load, gas), and capacity. The milestone plan populates from actual per-ISO registration requirements.

ERCOT alone has 29 milestones: GINR, RIOO-IS, QSE designation, metering, telemetry, commissioning, and ongoing compliance. Each milestone includes the regulatory citation, required documents, the portal where you file, timeline, fees, and what happens if you miss it. Assign milestones to team members, set due dates, and sync deadlines to your calendar. When a regulation changes, PhronEdge matches it against every registered asset and tells you which plans are affected.

PLATFORM PLANGuided registration and milestone tracking require Platform or Enterprise. Essentials provides monitoring and intelligence without asset registration.
5

Get cited regulatory intelligence

Open Chat. Ask any compliance question. PhronEdge answers with numbered citations to the exact regulatory section. PUCT Project No. 53981. CIP-008-6 R1. ERCOT Protocols Section 16.18(2). You verify every answer against the source document, not against the AI. The citation is the product.

TRY THESE

What are the ERCOT interconnection requirements for a 200 MW solar facility?

When is the next FERC Order 2023 compliance deadline?

Compare NERC CIP-008 incident reporting requirements with NIS2.

What penalties apply to a missed CIP-004 training deadline?

What state PUC approvals do I need for a BESS project in Texas?

Scope your chat to a specific registered entity using the dropdown at the top. The intelligence filters to what applies to that asset: its ISO, its state PUC, its NERC registration category, and every federal obligation that touches it.

The full intelligence layer

The sidebar organizes your complete regulatory operating system:

Operate
HomeYour portfolio command center. Live grid status across your ISOs, registration progress with milestone completion, regulatory changes filtered to your sources (today, this week, this month), and an inline Ask PhronEdge input. Your registered assets and their next milestones at the bottom.
MarketReal-time and day-ahead prices, system load, generation mix, gas prices with implied heat rates, and congestion with shadow prices across all 7 US ISOs.
AttentionEvery regulatory change that affects your registered assets, mapped with impact assessment and dollar exposure. Triage, assign to a teammate, resolve. Each item has an action-by date that syncs to Calendar.
CalendarRegistration milestones, comment deadlines, ISO meetings, and regulatory effective dates in one view. Export as .ics for Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar. Export regulatory data as CSV.
RegistrationYour per-ISO milestone plan. Track each asset from application through interconnection to commercial operation. Every milestone cited to the regulatory source.
ChatAsk anything. Cited answers from every indexed source. Scoped to your portfolio or to a specific entity.
Analyze
CrosswalkCompare obligations across any two regulatory frameworks side by side. NERC CIP vs NIS2. ERCOT vs PJM. Gaps and overlaps with recommended actions, exportable as PDF or CSV.
IncidentsReport an incident type and get every reporting obligation mapped: timelines, authorities, contacts, and consequences of late filing. Cited to the section number.
VendorsEvaluate any vendor against supply chain standards like NERC CIP-013. Risk score, gap analysis, and remediation actions cited to the standard, exportable as PDF.
Configure

Deliver intelligence to your team

Open Settings and go to Integrations. Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams and your compliance team gets cited regulatory intelligence directly where they work. Same sources, same citations, no context switching.

Configure delivery for regulatory changes, deadline reminders, and attention items. When something is published that affects your assets, the right people know before the comment window closes or the effective date hits.

PLATFORM PLANSlack, Teams, and email delivery are available on Platform and Enterprise.
8

Add your compliance team

Open Settings and go to Team. Invite by email and assign a role (Admin, Member, or Viewer). Everyone gets their own login and every action is logged with who and when. Your audit trail holds up under examination because every person has their own seat.

Additional seats $200/mo. Additional registered assets $250/mo. Added from the Plan tab and prorated on your next invoice.
